How to Take Melonex: One Capsule, a Full Glass of Water

Quick answer

How to use Melonex: take one capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water. The label allows up to two capsules a day, and it prints no time of day. Never go past two. A bottle of 60 lasts 60 days at one a day. Ask your doctor first if you take blood pressure medicine, a nitrate or sildenafil.

No. 01The directions

How do you use Melonex?

How to use Melonex is simple: swallow one capsule a day with an 8 oz. glass of water, as the label directs. The label allows up to two capsules a day.

Here are the label's own words: “As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water. May take up to two (2) capsules daily.” That is every instruction the bottle gives. It does not tell you to take it with food, before a meal or at night.

So the routine is about as easy as a routine gets. Open the bottle after checking that the safety seal was whole. Take one capsule. Drink the full glass of water.

Keep your prescribed medicines on the schedule your doctor set. Melonex is an add-on at most, never a swap.

No. 02Dosage

What is the Melonex dosage per day?

The Melonex dosage per day is one capsule, with a ceiling of two. One capsule is one serving and holds a 500 mg proprietary blend.

If you ever wonder about the melonex dose rate, that is the whole of it: 500 mg of blend at one capsule, up to 1,000 mg at two. The label does not split that into single amounts. By the label order rule, the first line holds at most 500 mg per capsule, the second at most 250 mg and the third at most 167 mg (21 CFR 101.36).

The label's dose options, what each holds and how long a 60-capsule bottle lasts.
Capsules a dayBlend per dayOne bottle lasts
1 (the label's usual)500 mg60 days
2 (the label's most)1,000 mg30 days
3 or moreNot allowed by the labelDo not do this

Notice how small these numbers are next to the trials. People in those studies took 3 to 9 g a day of citrulline (Barkhidarian 2019, citrulline and BP) or 4 to 24 g a day of arginine (Dong 2011, arginine and BP). More capsules will not close that gap safely, and the label says: “Do not exceed recommended dose.”

No. 03How many

How many Melonex a day should you take?

Most people reading the label should start at one capsule a day. Two is the ceiling, and moving from one to two is a question for your doctor.

The label gives no rule for when to take two. It only says you may. Without a rule, the cautious path is the one a pharmacist would suggest: stay at one, see how you feel, and ask before going up.

Citrulline and arginine can add to blood pressure medicines and nitrates. A second capsule doubles the amount that does that. If you are dizzy when you stand, do not add one. Sit or lie down, then phone your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Missed a day? Take your usual capsule the next day. Do not double up.
  • Feeling faint or lightheaded? Stop and call your clinician.
  • Chest pain, trouble breathing or fainting? Call 911 (CDC, Heart attack symptoms).

No. 04Timing

When should you take Melonex?

The label prints no time of day. The seller's FAQ suggests the morning, so a breakfast glass of water is a common choice.

Choose any steady time. What matters is that you take it the same way each day and drink the full glass of water. A morning habit is easy to keep, because the water is already at the table.

Take your prescribed medicine on its own schedule. If your doctor asked you to space two products apart, follow that. A day with one capsule in it looks like this:

A 24-hour day: one capsule with water at breakfast, a home blood pressure check, a walk in the afternoon, and at least 7 hours of sleep2461218
  1. Breakfast, about 7:30

One capsule with an 8 oz. glass of water. The label sets no time, so pick a meal you never skip. Prescribed medicine keeps its own schedule.

  2. A cuff check, same time daily

Rest 5 minutes, then take two readings one minute apart and write them down, as the American Heart Association suggests.

  3. A walk, most days

Adults need 150 minutes of moderate activity a week; a brisk 30 minutes on five days gets there.

  4. Night, 7 hours or more

Most adults need at least 7 hours. Blood pressure normally dips during sleep.

Home readings from the AHA (AHA, Home monitoring); activity from the CDC (CDC, Adult activity); sleep from the CDC (CDC, Sleep and heart health). The capsule time is a suggestion; follow your label.

The routine dial is an example, not medical advice. Your own times may differ.

No. 05Every day

Can I take Melonex daily?

Yes, the label directs a capsule daily. How long it is safe to keep taking is not known, because no long study exists.

The NIH says up to 9 g a day of arginine for several days or weeks appears well tolerated, and that its safety at high doses beyond 3 months is not known (NIH ODS, arginine and citrulline). For citrulline it says safety has not been adequately assessed (NIH ODS, arginine and citrulline). One capsule is much less than those doses.

Still, small is not the same as tested. A good habit is a check-in at day 30 and day 60 of each bottle. Ask yourself whether you feel any dizziness or stomach upset, and take your cuff log to your next visit.

Who should ask first

Pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18 and anyone with a known medical condition should consult a physician first, says the label. So should anyone on nitrates, sildenafil-type drugs, blood pressure medicine, blood thinners or a potassium-sparing diuretic, and anyone after a heart attack (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine) (RxList, L-citrulline).

No. 06Storage

How should you store Melonex capsules?

Store the bottle in a cool, dry place, away from heat, light and humidity. The label also says to keep it out of reach of children.

The bathroom shelf above a shower is the worst spot. A kitchen cupboard away from the stove is better. Keep the bottle closed, and if you use a pill organizer, fill only the days ahead.

The caution panel

The label reads: “KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. DO NOT USE IF SAFETY SEAL IS DAMAGED OR MISSING.” The cropped panel below shows the directions, storage and caution.

No. 07Supply and cost

How long will your supply last at the label dose?

Each 60-capsule bottle lasts 60 days at one capsule a day, so the 3-bottle pack covers 180 days and the 6-bottle pack 360 days.

Prices as listed in the seller's materials: 3 bottles are $207 and 6 bottles are $294, with free shipping on both and $9.99 shipping on the $158 two-bottle kit (Seller order page). That is about $1.15 or $0.82 a day at one capsule. Confirm the total at checkout.

The seller offers a 60-day guarantee, but it asks for at least 30 days of use, only sealed bottles are returnable, a 20% restocking fee applies and you pay return shipping. Read the refund policy first. Packs are on the pricing page.

No. 08FAQ

Taking Melonex: common questions

How many Melonex capsules should I take at once?

Take one capsule at a time with an 8 oz. glass of water. The label allows up to two a day, but it does not say whether to take them together or apart. Ask your pharmacist how to space a second capsule.

Should I take Melonex with food or on an empty stomach?

The label does not say. It only asks for a full glass of water. If a capsule upsets your stomach, take it with breakfast and mention it to your pharmacist. Arginine at high doses can cause stomach upset (NIH ODS, arginine and citrulline).

Is it safe to take Melonex every day for months?

The label directs a daily capsule, but long-term safety is not established. The NIH says safety of high arginine doses past 3 months is unknown (NIH ODS, arginine and citrulline). Check in with your doctor at 30 and 60 days.

What if I miss a dose of Melonex?

Skip it and take your usual capsule the next day. Do not double up, since the label tells you not to exceed the recommended dose. A missed day is not an emergency.

Can I take Melonex at night?

The label sets no time of day, so night is allowed by the directions. The seller's FAQ suggests morning. Choose the time you will remember, and keep it steady.

Can I take Melonex with other supplements?

Ask your pharmacist first. Some combinations matter, such as blood thinners or potassium products (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). Bring every bottle to the visit, since natural does not always mean safe (NCCIH, Using supplements wisely).

Can children or teens take Melonex?

No. The label asks anyone under 18 to consult a physician first, and says to keep the bottle out of the reach of children. It is made for adults.
